"What shape waits in the seed of you
to grow and spread its branches
against a future sky?"

PSYCHOTHERAPY
I offer trauma informed, integrative psychotherapy with a collaborative approach, co-created alongside you, within a held and confidential therapeutic relationship. We are wired for human connection, and evidence shows that it is the quality of this relationship that is the most important ingredient. I bring compassion, warmth, humour and an open sense of curiosity to make sense of whatever has brought you to therapy.
It can feel daunting to explore whatever issues you are facing. You may be going through a life transition or feel stuck in a loop of old patterns in need of change. You might be experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, or a past trauma might be calling for attention. Or looking to reconnect with your creativity, unblock your flow. We will work at your own pace, and I may also guide you in finding new ways to slow down and ground yourself, so that you can access resources to support the process. I am experienced in working with trauma, and weave together different ways of working in response to your needs.
My approach is integrative and person centred, drawing on a variety of theories to support each individual, including Gestalt, Transpersonal, Psychodynamic and Attachment Theory. I enjoy bringing creativity into the mix, with a focus on somatic experience and imagery. I am a trained Internal Family Systems Therapist, as well as EMDR - please click below to explore some of the different approaches I offer.
PRACTICALITIES
GET IN TOUCH
Drop me a line at rebeccasmartwork@gmail.com or the contact link, and I can answer any questions you might have, and get a brief sense of what you are looking for. We can then book in a no obligation, free 20 minute meeting online to discuss.
Standard rate for a 60 minute session is £85.
I offer a sliding scale down to £75 when available - please enquire for details.
Full concession rates are currently full.
INITIAL CONSULTATION
This is an initial 60 minute consultation to get a sense of whether this could be a good fit. It is a chance for you to let me know what you are looking for, and I can share a bit more about how I work. It is important that you choose the therapist that suits you, and this meeting (either online or face to face) allows you to see how it feels in person. I can also check that I have the right kind of experience for the issues you are bringing, and may refer on to another therapist if appropriate.
HOW IT WORKS
We will look through and sign a therapeutic contract agreeing professional standards and confidentiality, as well as GDPR. We will agree timing and frequency of sessions, payment, cancellation policy and ending process.
I usually offer an initial six sessions that we can then review to see how we are working together. This can be a stand alone piece of short term work, or as the foundation for a longer term therapeutic journey, depending on what is needed.
